Wilton and Fairfield Magazines Join Forces With Bedford, Litchfield, and Ridgefield
Morris Media Group, publisher of Bedford Magazine, Litchfield Magazine, and Ridgefield Magazine, has acquired Wilton Magazine and Fairfield Magazine from Mill River Media Group. “Reaching from Long Island Sound to Western Massachusetts and the Hudson Valley, the publications provide a long regional reach while maintaining the intimate local community relationships with each town we cover. Because after all, it’s where we live,” says Morris Media president Geoffrey Morris.
Start the Presses

For Keith Brown and his family, the arrival of fall means it's time to make the apple cider. Since 1998, the Browns have been hosting an old-fashioned apple cider making party at their home on Nod Hill, using the antique presses that Keith has collected over the years, and continuing a tradition that he and his brothers started when they were teenagers growing up in Ohio.
On The Right Track

This fall, Trackside, Wilton's teen center, enters it's fifth year. It's the result of the vision, hard work, persistence, and dedication of a group of Wilton parents and community leaders, who have faced an uphill battle from the planning stage to keeping the doors open today. Yet all evidence points to the fact that Trackside is gaining traction among kids in Wilton, and promises to be an asset to the community for the long term.

Shore Things

Love the beach, but not the crowds? The off-season is a wonderful time to visit and enjoy stretches of sand in peace and quiet. Wilton residents are fortunate to be within a 15-minute drive to three local beaches, which in addition to offering natural beauty and a place to walk, relax or explore, are also free during the off-season. Susan Farewell covers the highlights of Compo Beach and Sherwood Island State Park in Westport, and Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk.

Set in Stone: Frazier Peters' Stone Houses
Photo By: Pam Rouleau/ Rouleau Photographics
There are at least a half-dozen Frazier Peters' homes in Wilton. Those familiar with his early 20th century Connecticut architect and his work may be surprised to discover that his stone houses are inherently "green." In many ways, they are on the leading edge of the trend away from big box McMansions towards homes built on a more human scale, with more charm, details, and energy-sufficient features.

Boomer Bands Take The Stage
By day, they're ordinary people, raising families and doing the 9-5 drill. But several nights a week, they pick up their instruments, take to the stage and cut loose to preform the music they never stopped loving, but by necessity, took a backseat to family and day jobs for a time. The members of these local "boomer bands" are more than just part of a national trend, they're proof that passions don't die, and that there are some amazingly talented musicians posing as fathers, mothers, husbands, and wives out there in the 'burbs.
